The Ferry was scheduled to depart Haines at 4:30 pm. We were to arrive by 1:30 pm to load and strap down the bikes well before departure time.
We slept late and finally left the motel at its 11 am check out time, and found the Bamboo Room to have a late breakfast
After breakfast, we met Rosie. One fat and happy Cat. The woman that told us her name said she is a really good mouse catcher! See, you can’t judge a book by its cover! (or maybe the mice in Haines are really slow!)
Road to the Marina
Caught myself peeking!
We arrived before 1 pm and were still one of the last bikes to arrive.
Lane 1 was for bikes to Prince Rupert .
Tagged and ready to go!
Our boat.
Strapped down below deck.
They arranged the bikes in pairs, making it difficult to strap the bikes down on both sides, so we strapped the bikes together to provide counter weight.
There were a bunch of us.
Our cabin door.
Mick claimed top bunk
We had our own private bathroom
For those that did not get cabins to sleep in, a solarium was an option on the top deck. Kind of like camping without the dirt!
I offered to take a picture of Mick striking the Titanic pose (the movie), but he declined.
We can’t get to the bikes when not in port.
Space is a premium onboard . . .
But this is a little ridiculous!!!
The guy walking in while I was taking the picture was thinking ridiculous too!
A very nice and happy family posing for a picture!
Whale Tail!
Bald Eagle!
Black Eagle!
Mick, without a helmet!
The fast catamaran Mick rode to Juneau during his 1st trip to Alaska
Their smoking salmon in downtown Petersburg .
Hope the wind doesn’t change.

3rd stop: Wrangel
Dead car getting off ferry in Wrangel.
Glad that’s not me!
For some reason, they made everyone with a trailer back down the ramp onto the ferry.
Glad that’s not me too!
. . . then this guy, without a trailer, and allowed to drive forward down the ramp, can’t stay off the yellow walk way!
Girl adventurer having problems with her bike.
She attracted walkers and talkers, but no helpers!
Chivalry is dead.
And at the end of the day . . .
. . . Sailing out of the sunset.
